Workforce Equity Initiative Grant
Free programming for people from:
East St. Louis, Cahokia, Fairmount & surrounding low-income areas
Programs include:
HVAC, Forklift operation, Welding, Phlebotomy, CNA Nursing, EMT, Medical Assistant & LPN Classes
GED Program
Must be at least 16 years old
If under 18: must be cleared by their high school
If 18 or over: must go through pre-registration process
After the pre-registration; pre-test must be completed
Program lasts 8 - 10 weeks during the fall & spring semester & 4.5 weeks in the summer semester
One-classroom set-up; goes over math, reading, science, & social studies
Once instructors deem a student prepared in a subject, they administer a practice test
Classes/Sessions will be attended until all practice tests are passed
