Winter has finally arrived! Christmas and layers have been put on hold all year, and now they finally have a chance to shine! However, it's hard to dress appropriately for the weather while also looking cute. But not to worry, I’ll save you from rewearing the same hoodie and sweats all winter. Here are some closet essentials to have an it girl winter!
Earmuffs are easily some of my favorite winter accessories. They are just so cute, and as someone who hates having hat hair, earmuffs are the best alternative. They’re also very easy to accessorize, you can sew things on or embroider designs, and it immediately adds to the personalization of your look. Earmuffs are also highly versatile, and can work with any outfit. I personally enjoy matching the color of my earmuffs to my outfit, so not only are you warm, but you’re stylish too! Not to mention, they’re extremely cheap. You can just buy a pair at your local thrift store or Five Below, so you can buy multiple pairs.
Fur is probably the easiest way to stay warm and stylish. Fur cuffs, fur boots, and fur hoods all add so much to the silhouette of an outfit and keep you cozy. I love to have fur that’s a secondary color to the rest of my outfit, since it adds dimension and uniqueness. For example, if I’m wearing a pink outfit, I’d like to add white fur, maybe with some other white accessories, just to make the outfit more interesting palette wise. I also find the addition of fur to a clothing piece to make it much more dynamic. In general, fur adds so much to an outfit and keeps you warm on top of it.
Mittens are nothing short of extremely adorable. I love a good pair of knit mittens, and they are so cute to match with your earmuffs. As someone whose hands get easily cold, mittens are my biggest essential for winter. I love how easy they are to put on, and how warm and cozy they are. Similarly to earmuffs, you can easily buy several for a very low price. They’re also much safer than keeping your hands in your pockets. Thermal-lined mittens are so great for keeping your hands warm, but they’re also pretty subtle. They don’t make an outfit, so you don’t need for your mittens to be perfect. They’re just easy, simple accessories that you can always add as a quick, go to accessory to make the outfit more interesting. Overall, mittens are the easiest way to personalize your outfit for the winter.
Pastels are so good for winter. With the light snow on the ground and the pale blue ice, pastels are perfect to match the light vibe of winter. Pastel pink, pastel blue, and white are all must haves in your winter color palette. I love to pair a pastel coat with some white earmuffs and mittens, since it’s easily the cutest combo I know. I adore the look of pastels in the winter, since the vibes are spot on.
