Have you ever wondered how Parañaque Science High School became Parañaque Science High School?

Parañaque Science High School (PSHS) is a specialized public high school in Parañaque that aspires to shape talented and brilliant students.

As humans, it's our nature to always find some room to improve our lives, just as the late Mayor Walfrido N. Ferrer and his sister Mrs. Flor Cordero did. They desire a school that will provide free excellent secondary education to Parañaque's brilliant children as they discovered that bright pupils require specific attention and a curriculum that can mold them. The curriculum at Parañaque Science High School is strongly concentrated on Sciences, Engineering, Technology, and Mathematics.

Dr. Ricardo Sibug, the Superintendent during Ferrer's tenure, and Mr. Lino Rom, the OIC Science Supervisor, agreed to support the project since they envision a bright future for the proposed science high school. With 21 students in a Parañaque Municipal High School (PMHS, which was then known as Parañaque National High School-Main or PNHS-Main) classroom as soon as the application was granted, the first-ever cohort of PSHS students was born, also known as ParScians.

Because ParScians had previously only borrowed a classroom from PMHS, 2011 Mayor Florencio M. Bernabe opted to place ParScians in a two-story structure at Brgy. Sto. Niño. Not long after, ParScians were relocated to a four-story facility for Junior High School and another four-story adjacent structure for Senior High School near the original two-story building, which PAGCOR and the Parañaque administration funded.

The process of relocating these PSHS pupils may appear to be exhausting, but it is for the greater good. Every Parscian's greatest foundation is based on this years-long effort. This building relocation demonstrates that ParScians have been working hard since then together with their building. This arduous procedure shaped ParScians into God-fearing, academically excellent, disciplined, well-mannered, and down-to-earth people.

Being a ParScian and establishing things with a significant purpose is a difficult journey. Nonetheless, Paraquenos are aware that these city scholars will continue to work tirelessly to serve the city. As PSHS mantra goes, Soar High, ParSci!
