In this assignment, you will be using everyday office items to create interesting scenes.
You must submit 5 Photos, each photo must follow the following guidelines. After you've taken a picture - have your instructor critique it for approval.
- Rule of Thirds
- Your photo must use the rule of thirds. Failure to use this organizational method will result in no mark for the photo in question..
- Subject
- There must be a clear subject for your photo. The subject must "occupy a space" and look "at home" in it's space. Consider the relationship between your subject and its background.
- Background
- The background of your image must be purposeful and part of the story, OR, neutral and not distracting.
- Depth of Field
- Each photo must use depth of field purposefully. Use depth of field to control focus, and direct the viewers attention.
- Use of Color
- Consider colour - how does colour function in your shot? How does colour operate to create emphasis?
Each photo will be marked out 5. Remember - failure to use the Rule of Thirds will create an automatic zero!
Other automatic zeros -
- Not In Focus
- Under / Over exposed by more than a stop.
- Photo not shot in Manual with ISO 200, 400, or 800.
