Windows Vista was the first Windows version I used. Had it on an old compaq machine. Does anyone know of a theme that looks like Vista? I've tried looking on here. I saw Vista Plus but that's a completely different custom theme on it's own.
To my knowledge, there are none. That's kind of the idea of using Windowblinds themes to NOT look like native Windows, and I would assume no-one saw any point in making a theme looking like a relatively new version of Windows that most people disliked. Just wait until it's not around anymore, then the retro Vista themes will pop up for sure.

Just so you know, you aren't the only one. I use plenty of other cool Windows Blinds from Wincustomize, but sometimes I just want my computer to remind me of nostalgia. The whole reason I'm seeing this post is because I was looking for a Vista theme and couldn't find one.

The theme is actually a very dark blue, but you are correct it is dark. This was actually a popular request, to darken the appearance, from Vista users that use the console at the back of a theater auditorium for example.
Our dance with Camp Rio Vista and Camp Sierra Vista is coming back this year stronger than ever! The theme for the dance is Under the Vista Sea. We hope to see many mermaids (or mer-men), pirates, star fishes, Dorys and Nemos ready to party!
Now if you logon, everything should be good to go. This is the only way i have been able to get it to work. When you are in the post image apply stage, and give the PC a name, you are prompted to select a wallpaper as well. This selected negates you themed wallpaper to whatever you selected. If you find a better way of doing this, please share!!!
Thanks for the insight Josh, appreciate it. I will review the BDD2007 stuff once I find it. Not sure what it is at this point; I have been using the OPK tools & chms that we received from MS. I tested for a few days using the CopyProfile key in my XML file, but was not able to nail this down. In XP, I simply point to my theme file during unattended set up, install my applications in audit mode, re-seal and the the theme is still active after I complete OOBE, to include the correct display resolution. I am thinking it's some goofy little setting somewhere in the autounattend.xml that I have yet to figure out. OR, I am applying the theme / display setting at the wrong time in the pass.
I am adding my autounattend.xml file if anyone is interested in checking it out and providing comments. This XML file does not contain the CopyProfile tag since I was not able to get that working correctly. When I use this XML file, my PNP drivers install fine, my OEM folders, scripts, etc are placed on the c:\ drive, and I boot into audit mode with my theme & display setting applied perfectly.
Quick update - When using SIM to create autounattend.xml files, the theme settings are broken. This applies to oobeSystem Pass > Microsoft Windows Shell Setup > Themes. The instructions outlined in the OPK tools appear to be correct, but a bug prevents it from working correctly.

Hi, when I'm doing the installation of the backend theme vista, my SV restart, so I can't enter on the backend, I think that the "non-complete" install, may cause that problem, is any way to restore or finish the install ? anything that I can do, to don't lose any data?

I now use Windows 7 which runs just as good as Xp.
I had switched from Vista to Xp because its so much faster.
This Instructable will explain the process of changing Windows Vista and making it look like Windows XP. This covers changing the log-in screen, the computers theme, changing the mouse cursor style, and customizing other little features. Let me know if I miss something and comment, as this is my first instructable.
Windows Vista doesn't allow you to change the theme to ones non certified by Microsoft. To work around this, you have to replace the system theme .dll files. This can easily be done by using VistaGlazz from Code Gazer.
1. Download and Install VistaGlazz.
2. Launch VistaGlazz and choose the first option, patch system files.
3. Reboot your computer at the prompt.
4.Download the Luna(XP) theme from deviantART user =Satukoro
5. Copy/Extract the Luna Blue Folder to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes
6. Right-click on the desktop and choose personalize.
7. Select Windows Color and Apperance.
8. Choose Luna -Blue and select apply.
You now should have a similar desktop to the one in the second picture. The first picture shows the desktop before applying the theme.
Using a program called LogonStudio Vista, you can use any image as the background for the login screen.
1. Download and Install LogonStudio Vista.
2. Download and save the attached file called Windows XP.logonvista
3. Open LogonStudio. Choose load and find the windows xp.logonvista file.
4. Press the apply button. It will lock the computer to show you the new backround.

Even though my favorite Windows theme is Windows Classic, once Vista is released I want to run Aero Glass for at least a day. It's kind of like getting dressed up for the company Christmas party. In Windows terms, my outfit analogy is similar to asking what will happen if my PC can't run Aero. Concerned about the visual experience for those that can't run Aero, Microsoft has decided to revamp and enhance the Windows Standard theme. The new look has an opaque, blue gradient with smaller minimize, maximize, and close buttons.
