Welcome. I am Professor of Political Science at the University at Buffalo, SUNY. My interests are in the areas of comparative political economy, political behavior, political parties, and and research methods. My work examines the implications of changes in post-industrial economies for policy preferences, voting decisions, and political representation. I am a team member on the Executive Approval Project. My books include Citizen Politics and Democracy (with Russ Dalton, 2026), Economics and Politics Revisited (edited with Matt Singer, 2023), Democracy Under Siege? Parties, Voters, and Elections after the Great Recession (with Yesola Kweon & Jack Vowles, 2020), and Globalization and Mass Politics: Retaining the Room to Maneuver (2015). I teach courses on comparative elections, political economy, European politics, the EU, world politics, and quantitative methods.
