Meet the Teacher

Mrs. Brenners

I began my teaching career in 1982 after graduating from Trinity College in Burlington Vermont. I spent my first 2 years teaching Kindergarten in South America at an independent school. I then moved to Miami Beach and taught Kindergarten at a Jewish Day School. Dade County was my next move where I spent three years teaching Kindergarten in Overtown. Miami was to far to travel after my move to Broward County so I ended up working at 3 other schools until I finally found Panther Run. I knew after the first year that Panther Run was my home. The leaders and the other staff members are a family. We work so well together and we always have each others back.

Last year I hit the 30 year mark and have entered the teacher retirement system. It is unbelievable that I have been teaching for 30 years. I have had so many amazing experiences and better than that, so many amazing students come through my doors. It has been great being a Kindergarten teacher for most of those years. I will be making the most of my last five years. I have been teaching since I was about 9 or 10 in my backyard with the neighborhood kids and even after retirement I will continue being a teacher no matter what my next move will be.

I am married to a great husband and I have 2 amazing boys. Zachary (22) who will be graduating from UF in December with an Engineering degree. Sam (18) just graduated from West Broward and will be attending Santa Fe College to become a Veterinarian. I am excited to see what is next for the two of them. It is amazing being their Mom.
