February Edition 2018
It's highly likely you discovered our Magazine through Facebook. Your phone has probably had several updates to its App this year alone. Facebook does monkey around, move the goal posts and change their system frequently. It is after all their system to play with but the latest changes made news headlines.
The teenage audience is ironically the likely target of the recent change since it's the age group where it all started. Unfortunately the audience has aged and the up and coming new tech savvy younger generation aren't using it as much. The new generation have no loyalty to something they see as being uncool and let's face it ..... it's being used by their parents!
We're now likely to see a rapid return to its original aim of connecting friends and family which could be good.
You'll hopefully get to see more of your friends. We've already seen that you've been losing your most valued friends if you follow too many people and pages. Reduce the numbers and have a spring clean to see more of what you're genuinely interested in.
Identify friends as family members to see their postings first. Your friends postings appear next but if you follow a club or business page then they're unfortunately last in line.
Change how you interact: Like, Share, Follow, Comment or even click on postings and you'll see more of these page types in future adverts. The Facebook App is programed to learn from you.
If you want certain Page owners to see your own postings we've learned to tag up to 50 to spread the message.
None of this is great news if you host or follow a club, news, media, blogg, fan or commercial page.
The news feed adverts however will still be there albeit more expensive for page owners to pay to reach their own followers and new customers.
Existing Marketers and Influencers with thousands connected will be challenged to see if they can continue to still reach significant numbers for free. Perhaps their media power and wealth will severely deminish and be returned to Facebook.
