August Edition 2017
Although not part of our Johnstown area it still features highly in the lives of many residents from our community. Funding is always an issue and although the details are not public it's clear that the financial support isn't there or else it wouldn't have been put to sale.
We will feature the Navan Athletics Club and Parkvilla FC as articles in the next edition to help promote support for the Stadium..

"Claremont Stadium has been active in the community of Navan for over 30 years, it provides important and necessary help to the people of both Navan and Meath. It is home to Navan Athletics Club, Parkvilla FC, Navan Badminton Association, Parvilla Belles, Youthreach, MIDWAY, Meath Sports Partnership, The Special Olympics, Navan Career Start and The Louth Meath Education and Training Board. Please see and share this petition and get the attention of every Public Representative in the County. This is a service run by the people for the people. We are asking Meath County Council to intervene and help us save our stadium."

"Is there any sense in the world of local politics? Meath County Council is looking for submissions in regard to the provision of leisure and amenities in Johnstown. Whilst these are no doubt much needed for the inhabitants of that particular suburb of Navan why is the saving of an existing leisure and amenity at Claremont Stadium not taking priority? Surely having invested no small amount of funds through grants and developments over the years now is the time to step up to the plate and secure the future of one of Leinsters best leisure amenities! I implore our local politicians to do something now and put the saving of Claremont Stadium at the top of the agenda. How many children from Navan and beyond have passed through that place who went on to have healthy, meaningful lives thanks to the sports, exercise and friendships they found there? Let us also remember that the facility is in a 'RAPID' development area, are you the politicians and custodians of our town and county really going to let down those that need these facilities the most? Come on don't be found wanting, SOS...... SAVE OUR STADIUM! "
