The Hummm.

Concept

MMMMMmmmmmmm. The whisper. The buzz. The warm lap you can crawl on to. The soft embrace. A curious, strange, overdimensioned place.

The Hummm will serenade itself to you, float you in the bosom above the bustle, offer a feminist treehouse nest to crawl into.

The Humm is an extension of several projects from Kiez Burn 2018. Our 2019 morph offers a savory, soothing hideaway for treesexuals and poetic escapists. We are writers, dreamers, painters, engaged feminists, sex-positive, exploratory, naked, hungry builders and we want to bring this to you.

We will extend the concept of the pussy garlands by silk screening the designs on large cloth panels (50cm sq.) and install the floating textures within The Humm and in the tree itself. These pussies will brush against some floating boob sculptures. The Humm will host a soundscape during the day, with floating words and sounds to invite the curious to lie among the breasts and vulvas structuring the hold.

The structure and cost of the treehouse materials will depend on location. We will work together with other Dreamers to re-use as much wood as possible from last year, and salvage as much recycled materials as possible. Ideally, we will have a two- layered platform, with at least part of the structure waterproof and cushioned as a dry and soft cuddle/play space.

The structure will most likely be able to hold 5-10 people at once. After completion we will evaluate maximum capacity recommendations, ensuring that structural integrity is taken into account, and we will install a safety and precautions sign to inform curious treesexual explorers of the limits of the structure.

Leave No Trace

The treehouse will be constructed using rope to ensure zero damage to the tree. A part of our Leave-No-Trace plan, this construction technique will also allow us to reuse old wood and give it back to the community after the burn. We will most likely collaborate with other Dreamers to share transport costs and will look into on- and offsite storage options for the reusable materials. We have included costs if all material was purchased new, and another proposal if 50% could be salvaged. We will try and buy a minimum amount of new materials. We will also create an inventory of what would be available for use by other Dreamers next year, to make it easier in the future to share and reuse materials as a community.
