We work to elucidate and understand the novel optical and electronic properties of organic and hybrid organic-inorganic semiconductor thin films, and how these depend on composition and processing. This understanding is applied to create novel electronic and optoelectronic devices, most frequently for applications in light-emission (LEDs/OLEDs/polaritons), detection (photodetectors), and solar photoconversion (solar cells). This interdisciplinary work involves elements of physics, chemistry, materials science and electrical engineering.
