The Heavy Metal Project
The Heavy Metal Project is a research project based at Uppsala University with the goal to investigate the long-term effects of heavy metal expsoure on health, education, cognitive ability, labor market outcomes and political participation.
We use rich longitudal administrative data in combination with innovative empirical methods to estimate causal effects of primarily lead, mercury, arsenic and cadmium.
The project is financed by a three year grant from Tom Hedelius' and Jan Wallander's Research Foundation.
The research project will start in the fall of 2019.
