You may have wondered where “The Green Drawer” came from. The Green Drawer came to life in an effort to share my interest in transforming something old into something new but most importantly it supports my passion for caring for children in need. For many years I have repurposed home and garden décor in my own home. I find something discarded or worn down and bring it back with a new purpose. I started by repurposing common drawers into essential pieces for the home. These formerly discarded drawers became gift baskets, book holders, coffee table trays or even the housing for a special stuffed friend. I repurposed everything and anything I could find but it wasn’t enough. I wanted to use my interest to make a difference. In 2017 Green Drawer found a new home and a purpose. I began to sell my creations at Hidden Treasures Antique Mall and used a portion of the profits to care for children. It breaks my heart to see a child go hungry or be in need of basic necessities, so I committed Green Drawer to support children’s ministries. While the treasures at Green Drawer are constantly changing and evolving, this commitment to supporting children in need will never waiver.
