Geelong Jazz and Blues Festival - 2026

The Geelong Jazz and Blues Festival is looking for volunteers!!

We will be scheduling volunteers in 'half-day' shifts of 11-3pm and 3-7pm. The first shift starts one hour before the start time of the first artist and the second shift finishes one hour after the end time of the last artist. For these start and end hours, we may not need every volunteer for that shift and/or we might need to move you to another role for setup/packup tasks. Your flexibility is appreciated but we won't ask you to do physical stagehand work if you're not able.  There is also a Saturday evening show shift of 7-10pm.

You will be provided with a wristband for access to the Festival for the remainder of the day of your shift. You will also be provided with a festival T-shirt (hence the request for T-shirt size, below).

DOOR ATTENDANTS
We need volunteers to work on the door, checking wristbands to let ticket-holders and artists into venues and tracking the number of people in and out of each venue. You will be stationed at a venue entrance and should expect to stand for most of your shift.

STAGEHANDS
We need volunteers to help artists move gear in and out of venues and to assist the sound engineers with tasks like running cables, positioning mic stands, etc as required. This is a physical role requiring you to be capable of moving heavy equipment. Trolleys will be provided, but some lifting can be expected.

THE HUB
This is where people will come to collect wristbands and buy artist merch. We will also be providing secure storage for artist gear. This will likely be frantically busy. We need volunteers who can work quickly and accurately under pressure, and deal with people patiently and efficiently.

If you would like to volunteer but can't do a full 4-hour shift, feel free to register anyway and leave a message about your availability.
