the future teachers
this is us
Hi, Welcome to our e-portfolio.
We are the future teachers Leonie, Marielle and Carolin. All of us are currently enrolled in the 6th semester of teacher training with English as our main subject. Together we take part in the class "Becoming Professional" at the University of Education in Karlsruhe.
In this course we learn how to use modern media for the classroom and for our professional development as teachers.
Hi, I am a 23-year old student at the University of Education in Karlsruhe, Germany. I want to become a teacher for secondary students between grade 5 and 10. As already mentioned above, English is my main subject and I also study protestant theology.
In the summer of 2017 I moved to Baltimore, US for half a year to study at the University of Baltimore for one semester. I enjoyed getting to know the American culture and comparing this with my knowledge about the German culture.
In my freetime I enjoy going outside and reading Harry Potter :)
How's it going everyone, I'm 24 years old and moved to Karlsruhe 3 years ago to study at the University of Education. I'm studying health and culture, which mainly includes nutrition, textile science and consumer knowledge.
As I'm also studying English I spent 7 months in New Zealand working at an Intermediate School. Doing sports plays a big role at the school which made this experience perfect for me. Besides sports e-learning is implemented in every class. Not just the school but also the easy going culture and the diversified landscape inspired me.
Being outside, playing Volleyball, go hiking or just a short trip with the bicycle are things that make me happy in my free time.
Hi there, my name is Marielle and I´m 23 years old. I study English and Geography at the University of Education in Karlsruhe for secondary schools.
In 2018 I spend 7 months in Canterbury, England, at the Simon Langton Grammar School for boys. I got the chance to teach German and Geography to native students of English. I really enjoyed to use various kinds of new media and apps like active inspire and kahoot. I liked to implement new and old media into my lessons.
In my freetime I like to backpack and travel, especially to Great Britain!
As part of our developmental process, take a look at our first brainstorming discussion what we think about teaching today and especially implementing media usage in the secondary classroom.
We're focusing on how teaching is in a current development and how it is our role as young teachers to make our lessons interesting and motivating for students by using new technology in the classroom.
Our experience in different classrooms show that media usage is beneficial for us as future teachers and our students developement.
