The FroobWorld Times returns after a hiatus! Our website will be back up and running shortly.
An interview with TheChief13.
Chief is an an admin who joined FroobWorld in March of 2012. the 27th of June, 2016. Known for his dedication, expertise, and commitment to nabbing nabs, he enjoys basket weaving and taking long walks in the nether.
Why and how did you join FroobWorld?
So, millions of years ago, I was looking for a new server with some friends as the last server we were on closed down. Friend of mine found FroobWorld so we checked it out.
Both of my friends ended up griefing however and got themselves banned. I stuck around.
What was Froobworld like when you first joined?
FroobWorld was a lot smaller when I first joined, for the first few weeks I only ever really saw one or two people online if I was lucky. I did end up meeting someone called Gabstar however and they invited me to live with them. Then eventually I met Doubl3killz who was admin at the time and he took a liking to me almost instantly. (can't blame him). Can't really remember any notable builds if I'm being honest. This was like 13 years ago after all.
How have you seen Froobworld evolve? is there anything you would like to see evolve in the future?
Well, for one it's become a far busier server. Almost never a time when no one's online which is great! However it's also become a kind of diamond tycoon game for some people which has brought about issues that never really existed before. Like the whole fixed price thing in spawntown. as old and grumpy as this may sound, i'd quite like things to devolve back to simpler times xD.
Are there any moments that stand out to you on Froobworld?
Well, there's the time I got staff and then admin soon after. It was quite special for me as if I recall, I was the first person to earn admin from newbie. Like, all the previous admins knew froob from other things but i was just some random dude who joined, was awesome, and got admin for it.
Another notable event, for me at least, was everything that happened in Oldtown. The creation of it, the way it grew and expaned, and everyone wanted a house there. The way it was then destroyed by the same group who made it but like, also made it look like it had been abandoned for years. And then the drama that followed. Had to make some very hard decisions involving that.
Do you have any future projects planned?
One day I will finish my island... One day...
Anything else you would like to tell the Froobian Times readers?
Froob is a nab.
