What you see above is a link to a Youtube video, which involves a screencast describing one of the harder tasks to accomplish with just words, which is how to build an effective workout routine. As a former beginner, one of the biggest misconceptions I had was finding the perfect workout routine. Throughout countless hours of research, I learned one thing that information online simply does not tell you, which is that there is no universal perfect workout routine. There are so many personal factors that go into developing a routine that is ideal for you, and it is important to think about these when making one. Luckily, the guide above is perfect for this. I utilized simpler terminology that most beginners could understand, while also using friendly images and screenshots to provide easier access.
I feel that the best way for users to find my video is through keywords. "many participants described entering general keyword searches and then browsing through videos. In the words of one participant, “Sometimes I make it a question or just put the one word in and then see what comes out.” (Wolf 8). As described by Wolf, keywords are essentially a goldmine for obtaining viewers. I optimized my description in a way that certain keywords will pop up, such as beginner, and mental health, which are big topics in the field of fitness. Along with this, including my citations allows for more interaction from other viewers. To add on, Wolf points out how "Despite participants’ perceived straight forwardness of searching and waiting to “see what comes out,” what content appears and actually gets watched on YouTube is heavily dependent on the recommended or “related” video feature "(Wolf 8). Since fitness is such a big topic, it makes it nice that I have my presentation about fitness. Allowing for it to pop up in people's related videos is a great way to get views.
I think that the amount of people who find it useful will be high. This is becuase of the fact that my video is essentially a guide for people on how to build an effective workout. This is essential for beginners who are starting out, who also make up a majority of the fitness community. This serves as a great way for people to learn about how to properly make a work out routine that works for them. Additionally, I provided some bonus information on mental health, which is something that is unique, and a lot of other videos in my experience avoid. "with several participants expressing concern over commercial videos"(Wolf 8). Wolf mentions how many participants in the were skeptical of commercial videos, which is great for me. One thing that separates my video from others is that it focuses on free information, and is not just a money grab or a form of branding. It helps me build trust with the audience, which allows them to come back more and share the video.
