The Feedback Initiative

What is The Feedback Initiative?

This is a voluntary mentoring and feedback service for economists based in India. There is a strong feeling amongst many junior economists based in India that they suffer from a serious lack of mentors. More concretely, they feel that insightful comments/suggestions on early drafts of their discussion papers would be a tremendous help. We sympathize with this view and are planning to start some form of mentoring service, known as The Feedback Initiative. In particular, we have compiled a list of senior Indian economists abroad representing various fields within economics, who have agreed to read up to two papers a year and provide detailed feedback on these papers. We are also approaching senior economists based in India to provide the same mentoring service.

We invite junior economists - preferably Post Doctoral students and Assistant Professors - to submit their working papers (across all fields) to us. We will match papers to available mentors, who will then provide detailed comments and feedback. We may do some initial evaluation of papers prior to sending papers to the mentors. In some cases, we may return a paper to the author without sending it to a mentor.

We hope this service will prove useful.

How to Submit Your Paper?

Please fill out this Google Form and upload a copy of your paper in the form and submit. We will reach out to you soon after that, with a decision on whether it will be sent for feedback.
