• Synopsis: After being committed for 15 years, Michael Myers, now a grown man and still very dangerous, escapes from the mental institution and immediately returns to Haddonfield to find his baby sister, Laurie.

• Intentions: I've got one more Halloween edit to offer, a combination of Rob Zombie's remake and its sequel into one seamless film.

I haven't seen either of these films in years - it's an understatement to say I found H2 to be over-the-top and cruel, which isn't helped by the widely available Director's Cut and its divisive ending. Upon revisiting the 2007 remake this Fall though, I recognized that while some of the viscera and vulgarity isn't necessary, the film's brutality and psychology makes it stand out against the rest of the series as a truly memorable entry. Its sequel is far from perfect, but its one of the few direct sequels that continues its predecessor's threads in an interesting way.

My main goal for the edit was to dial the film back from an 11 to a 9 in terms of excessiveness. Much of the sexual content is cut back - not entirely eliminated, but still reduced. For example, Michael's childhood bully only taunts him about his mother, but not his sister too, and Laurie's bagel antics later on are cut altogether.

Otherwise, I also added many tracks from David Gordon Green's Halloween 2018 reboot and its sequel - Bogeyman, Michael Kills Again, The Shape Hunts Allyson, Laurie Sees the Shape, Wrought Iron Fence, The Shape is Monumental, and Payday. John Carpenter delivered an incredible soundscape for these films, and their heaviness perfectly fits alongside Zombie's cinematography.

And lastly, the biggest change I made was to completely eliminate the white horse and Sheri Moon Zombie as Michael's mom from H2's story. There may be fans of this concept out there, but I've never met one, even from people who love Zombie's Halloween films.

I added some film damage and edited the color and contrast in both films to match, in addition to cropping H2 to match the remake's aspect ratio.
