• Intentions: Hello all! I offer the fourth installment of the Baliscon Noir series - Batman and Robin! When I first started this Noir project, I was so enamored with Batman Forever. That was the first Batman film my family owned on VHS, and I rewatched that sucker so often I'm surprised it never wore out.

My intention for this Noir series is to help make the 80s and 90s Batman films feel more timeless, reducing distractions from the classic unique, grandiose art damage. I desaturated the colors, added film grain and damage, and limited out-of-place humor. I didn't know that taking this approach would transform Batman and Robin into a blockbuster film!

I swear, by cutting a half hour worth of over-the-top cartoony action, excessive puns, and Bane in his entirety, Batman and Robin is quite an entertaining film! By honing in on Freeze's mission and Alfred's tragic illness, the resulting plot is surprisingly moving.

Additionally, I wanted to provide some pay off on one of the tenants of this Batman Noir series - in my opinion, Batman should never overtly commit murder. Even if a villain was presented as dying in one of these films, I wanted to include them together in this last installment. So, I crafted a scene where each of the Batman rogues imparts some message to Mr. Freeze as he's being rolled down the halls of Arkham Asylum, leading to his final cell.

Change List: 

• Altered opening titles to reflect the fanedit's name

• Moved Pam Isley's intro scene to after the opening credits, removing as many direct references to Bane as possible. Dr. Woodrue is depicted using Isley's research to create generic super soldiers - Bane does not play a part in the edit whatsoever

• Removed shots of Batman and Robin's butts and groins from the opening suit-up

• Cut the exchange about chicks digging the car and Superman working alone

• Cut the Iceman Cometh line

• Cut Batman saying "Hi Freeze, I'm Batman" and sliding down a dinosaur exhibit. Once he crashes through the roof, the edit cuts to him soaring towards Freeze and kicking him

• Cut the line "You're not sending me to the cooler"

• Removed looney toon sound effect when Robin knocks the vase into the air

• Shortened Robin's descent to the ground next to Batman

• Removed the cartoony bonk effect when the guard that Freeze throws hits the wall

• Removed Batman and Robin activating their ice skates and trimmed any shot where they're overtly shown skating

• Once Robin grabs the diamond and asks if Batman's got Freeze, I cut directly to Freeze running through the furnace being pursued by the duo - This cuts out the entire rocket sequence

• Cut Freeze asking Batman if he'll stop the villain or save the boy, and then saying he'll kill Batman next time

• Removed mention of Bane and his later appearance from Ivy's reawakening scene

• Removed the Mr. White Christmas musical number, cutting from the exterior shot of Freeze's lair to his discussing his scheme with his henchman, adding Freeze's theme from Batman the Animated Series to cover the transition

• Cut Robin replying "You can say that again" in reference to Barbara being beautiful in front of her uncle Alfred

• Cut any time Gossip Gurdy speaks in the scene where Bruce unveils his company's telescope and is confronted by Ivy

• Cut Freeze saying he hates when people talk during the movie after he freezes his goon, and later when he says "very nice"

• Reduced Gossip Gurdy's lines at the auction

• Removed Ivy disguising herself as an ape at the auction

• Cut Ivy's lines "I've got some wild oats to sew" and "someone's about to hit the honey pot"

• Cut Freeze's exit cue gag during the auction

• Removed Bane from the end of the auction scene

• Cut Freeze's line "It's a cold town" when he's about to freeze the batmobile
