~ A depiction of one of the potential visions that was witnessed, provided by the Tapestry.
At the recent Rathfall Market, the avatar Foresight was seen among the Unbounded, offering visions of possible futures. These glimpses came at a cost as recipients had only moments to jot down what they saw before their memories were wiped clean. Were it not for Spinner, who remained behind with quill in hand to question each visionary, this knowledge would have been lost. Thanks to these efforts, the notes are now available for review at the Tapestry.
Sir Gregor has since proposed a strategy to confront the rising threat of Avana, whose return can spell ruin for the Grimere Expanse. It was said that the visions were harrowing and we owe much to the Unbounded who braved them for the good of all. Those that wish to help can view Sir Gregor's plans at Whitehaven.
In the Market’s final hours, a Cathar Ritual was performed to grant Foresight one last empowered vision. Though beset by creatures of light and blight, the ritual was a success thanks to the efforts of the Unbounded. We can only hope that the final premonition prepares us for what is to come...
“When the wind turns cold and the sun no longer hangs long in the sky, six Champion Lieutenants of Avana will be born.” ~ Avatar Foresight
A brief view of Foresight after the cathar ritual that empowered them temporarily. During this period, it's said they glowed with golden radiance that matched the sun.
Outside of the climactic Cathar Ritual, much of the Rathfall Market remained quiet. With many of the Unbounded entranced in dream states brought on by Foresight’s visions, the bustle of trade and chatter gave way to a hushed, contemplative atmosphere.
In the days following the revelations, several locals offered their thoughts on the matter. While some expressed unease at the nature of the visions and the silence that accompanied them, others voiced hope. We at the Fallen Times would like to thank Chef Goretusk, Atradimas, and the secretary themself Spinner for lending their time.
First of all, after everything that transpired over the last market and with what you experienced, do you feel hopeful, afraid, or something else?
“Honestly, not much has changed about my feelings personally. Its one more apocalypse in a series of apocalypses.”
With what has been written down and remembered through Foresight's visions, what stood out to you the most?
“What stood out the most was 2 fold, the rebellion against nobility, and the sheer scale of the unified front we have to bring in our coming war against Avana. While we may work towards healing her, we still have to prepare for her light elemental assault this winter. Something I feel we're woefully outnumbered and illprepared for.”
Is there anything else you would like to share with the people of Rathfall?
“We need everyone in this fight, and every one to come after. We're quickly approaching a time where the apathy of beauracracy and nobles will cost more than anyone is capable of paying. It doesnt matter if you can pick up a sword, aura, till a farm, or a skim a research book; All Rathfallians are in this fight with us.”
With what has been written down and remembered through Foresight's visions, what stood out to you the most?
“We saw many potential futures, many plausible paths. But in all of them, every last one, we fought till our final breath for those we call friend and neighbor; every last one of us. If there is one constant, one truly fixed thing across all of time, it is that we will stand united. That is the adal'dao - the noble path.”
What do you think the communities of Rathfall should prioritize first moving forward?
“Community. We must solve the problems plaguing us and come together against the greatest threat we have ever encountered. We do this firstly at home, we must improve the conditions of all people from the humble worker to the highest lords. We must do this abroad, sending relief and military aid without though of repayment.”
How has the events of last market left you feeling?
“I am reminded that we are not promised tomorrow; one should never go to bed with unresolved matters... Say what your heart desires, learn that thing you had wished to, do the thing you've never tried.”
After reviewing all the visions shared with you, how are you left feeling?
“With these recent experiences I am actually feeling relieved and determined. As many may know, I am a refugee of a distant reality that shattered into nothing with hardly any warning. Now that I have been making Whitehaven my home, I am of course feeling great concern that a similar fate threatens the Grimere Expanse, but I am choosing instead to focus on the fact that Foresight has granted us the warning that my last world was deprived. As an agent of Regret and Foresight, I am determined to do all I can to be preventing this, and I am welcoming all who call Grimere home to be helping me."
All who reside in Grimere? What of some of the factions and groups that tend to cause trouble?
“I am mentioning all who reside in Grimere very deliberately, because the urgency of unity is something that was standing out to me prominently among our glimpses of the future. Moments of success we witnessed were always the result of persons or whole groups setting aside differences to collaborate. I am believing that every single person and power in this world should be asking themselves what they can do to be helping. No matter how large or small that aid may be, it is all crucial."
That will be quite the task at hand. Is there anything else you'd like to share with the people of Rathfall?
“In the spirit of offering aid, I am pleased to be announcing a project that I have been drafting privately. There remains yet, on the western edge of Whitehaven, some land that is suitable for building. It is my intention to lobby with Prince-Governor Tristan and local representatives of the Great Houses, that they might approve my plans for the subsequent development of a final district; to be called Candleglass Commons and to serve as a beacon of knowledge, artistry, and craft. Its central attraction shall be a Library open to all, where myself and others like me may apply their skills to chronicle knowledge for the benefit of all. While the Earth’s Chosen and Mistweavers have compiled impressive collections on the specific subjects of interest to them, I am feeling that we should also curate archives that are of interest to the general public as well. The Tapestry has made it our mission to care for the basic needs of our fair city; if appointed as Thane of this new district, I would look forward to nourishing the minds of our citizens as well”
