As a fellow parent who has guided three children through their formative years and into adulthood, I intimately understand the joys and challenges of fostering a rich and engaging learning environment at home. This website is born from that journey, a culmination of years spent weaving together curriculum with the authentic experiences that ignite true understanding. It's built upon the bedrock of proven pedagogical practices honed in New Zealand classrooms, infused with a deep belief in the innate curiosity of children and the boundless potential of homeschooling.
Here, you'll find more than just resources; you'll discover a trusted partner in your homeschooling adventure. With a unique blend of educational expertise, a love for crafting compelling narratives, a commitment to environmental stewardship, and a knack for leveraging technology, I'm dedicated to empowering you to create a homeschool space that is both enriching and deeply relevant. Join me in cultivating a love of learning that extends far beyond the pages of a book and into the very fabric of your family's life.
Hi, I'm Amie Williams, creator of The Earth Experiments and it's a pleasure to meet you!
Things that led me to create the kiddos part of my Earth Experiments work:
I was a mainstream education teacher in the classroom here in New Zealand for 15 years.
I've been a mama and passionate about being a mama for nearly 28 years now. My own three "Earth Kiddos" have always been my "why".
I am passionate about real life, project-based, hands on learning.
I am also passionate about technology and the ways that digital affordances can support diverse learners in being confident and capable
I believe in lifelong learning - not just for the classroom, but forever.
I'm all about life being experimental, not fixed. Finding out who we are and how we function optimally takes experimentation.
I love creating and believe that learning and creating are central to being human. Creating is not just for artists.
I'm all about life's meaning and synchronicity. Just connecting the dots.
Come along, Dear Soul. It's great to have you join us in your very own Earth Experiment.
Amie xx
