The journey that makes me who I am today — #TheDigitalSavvy
I used to crave perfection until I found ways to do more in less time.
I never liked computers until I have to choose between theory (Banking) and practical (Computer Application).
I did not know how creative I was until I enrolled myself for a Multimedia course, by chance.
I always loved solving problems; Math was one of my favorite subjects. I learned C like a maniac; but failed at JAVA with equal demeanour, numerously and frequently.
Web and the Internet are real damn things to learn; heck, I did my Masters in Technology.
Nevertheless, it was not supposed to be.
I always wanted to be a Management Graduate (just how cool it sounds... M-B-A!); before the typical Chartered Accountant dream (that joy of looking at a Balance Sheet and understand business in a way that makes corporates uneasy; Any Commerce folks out there?!).
My family did not support me. Too bad!
Then, I shifted my focus to social networking sites; met like-minded people, who were not in immediate shock upon seeing a Female talking about Cricket and Sports (we all want to be accepted, no?).
And... something wonderful happened.
Entrepreneurship as a concept is very appealing to me (I mean, just look at the possibility of what all can and cannot be done!).
I coupled sports, curiosity, time, and hard work to use social media to my advantage. Got bit lucky in the moment; met some amazing people; made few life-long friends and got my first mentor all this while.
Social media offers immense opportunities, and can do wonders if used correctly — I learned initially.
From there, I gradually upgraded my knowledge base to make progressive strides as a Marketing Pro.
It took time. I struggled with resources and help at the beginning; still do to an extent. Just it did not stop me. Internet has actually become my possibility.
And the journey goes on since then... of course, with its unique ups and downs.
