As you descend, you press yourself close to the stairs in order to remain hidden from the automatons.
They seem totally engrossed in their activity, but to avoid tripping their motion sensors, you creep slowly along the mosaic floor, pausing whenever their beaklike faces turn in your direction. Although your pace is excruciatingly slow, you manage to cross the room undetected and slink up the stairs on the far side. Once you reach that distant landing, you find yourself standing before an archway identical to the one you entered the room through.
But the room which confronts you on the other side of this archway is somehow even grander than the previous. It is decorated with a luxurious red velvet carpet, and stained glass windows (illuminated by the glow of magic torches) shine brilliant patterns down on the centerpiece of the room: a tiny, wrapped present, complete with velvet ribbon, resting on an ostentatious golden table.
Using your uncanny perceptive abilities, you check the room for traps, find nothing.
The present is all yours at last!
