Muffin VS Cupcake
Whenever we visit the bakery we are totally confused what to pick and what to take. Friends, I am sure same happens with you too. This time for It's Different we bring to you the difference between a Cupcake and Muffin.
Muffins have a bit harder texture than cupcakes and are much denser and feel more like munching into bread with fillings like nuts or fruits in them.
In general, muffins are meant to be savory foods in contrast to the sweet taste and softer texture of cupcakes. They sometimes replace all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour, oat flour or even various nut flours.
The amount of butter and sugar is higher in cupcakes than in muffins. Cupcake batter is beaten significantly longer than muffin batter, this creates a uniformity of air bubbles throughout the cupcake. Muffin batter, on the other hand, is beaten briefly and remains relatively lumpy.
We can, however, have savory muffins, but not savory cupcakes.
The most obvious visual difference between cupcakes and muffins is, of course, the frosting. Cupcakes are topped with creamy, delicious frosting. Instead, muffins may have a sugared top or a very thin glaze.
So next time when you visit a bakery you know actually what you're looking at !

Biscuit VS Cookie
A biscuit is much firmer than a cookie. A biscuit is usually smaller two biscuits might be pressed together with a filling, or it could be topped with icing or chocolate. It is reasonable to assume that most biscuits can be dipped in tea.
Much like cake, cookies are made from a soft, thick dough and are denser than an English biscuit. When they are finished, cookies are larger, softer, and chunkier than their biscuit cousins. In contrast, the word “biscuit” comes from the Latin 'bis' (twice) and 'coquere' (cooked). It essentially means twice baked!

Short Story VS Novel
Short story and novel are both narrative fiction written in prose. The main difference between short story and novel is their length; a short story is generally shorter than a novel as it is intended to be read in a single setting. Short stories generally range anywhere from 1,500 to 30,000 words whereas novels start from about 50,000 words. This word counts are only mentioned to give a general idea about the length; there is no strict rule saying that these two categories should stay within these boundaries. Due to this difference in length, some other significant differences arise between short stories and novels.
A short story is a brief narrative in prose that describes fictional characters and events. Short stories have no set length, but most publisher guidelines indicate the word range to be anywhere from 1,500 to 30,000 words. The most notable characteristic of short stories is that they are meant to be read in a single sitting and designed to produce a single effect.
Short stories have plots and characters, just as novels; however, they are limited in scope in comparison to novels. There are fewer characters and almost no subplots. The action or the events in a short story takes place within a short period of time. Therefore, it may only contain a single setting and few scenes.
Novel is the longest genre of narrative prose fiction in modern literature. It is a long narrative in prose that describes fictional characters and events. According to some publishers’ guidelines, the word count of a novel starts from 50,000. A novel is not necessarily intended to be read in a single sitting or to produce a single effect.
Unlike a short story, a novel can be divided into chapters and sometimes volumes. Novels can also be categorized into different genres such as supernatural, thriller, fantasy, humorous, etc.

Turtle VS Tortoise
All tortoises are in fact turtles that is, they belong to the order Testudines or Chelonia, reptiles having bodies encased in a bony shell—but not all turtles are tortoises. If tortoises are turtles, why not just call all turtles tortoise? Here are some points which will help us differentiate between a turtle and a tortoise.
•Tortoises are exclusively land creatures. They live in a variety of habitats, from deserts to wet tropical forests. (Unlike most sea turtles, which take a trip to land only when they are laying eggs, tortoises don’t have much to do with water other than drinking it and occasionally bathing in it.)
•Tortoises have more rounded and domed shells where turtles have thinner, more water-dynamic shells. Turtle shells are more streamlined to aid in swimming.
•Turtles can be aquatic, semi-aquatic, or mostly terrestrial. Tortoises are turtles that live on land and aren't equipped for water. Their feet look like tiny elephant feet which are compatible for walking. whereas semi-aquatic and aquatic turtle feet are webbed. Only sea turtles have true flippers.
