Walls and Ceilings
Walls and ceilings shall be finished to provide an even and consistent appearance, to established levels of workmanship.Â
Plastering snagging items should be located and rectified prior to the final coat being applied.
Ensure the item is easily identifiable for the decorator and recorded in accordance with Bloor procedure.
Any plastering items over 20mm will require the plasterer to use jointing compound .
Ensure any repair leaves a consistent finish to the wall and ceiling so that it can not be identified once decorated.
Painted surfaces should be even in appearance and free from conspicuous runs and prominent brush marks.
Where required, remove items such handrails and ironmongery to ensure it remains free of paint marks.
Follow health and safety procedure when removing handrails.
Protect items such as sockets and switches.
Use smoke detector covers to prevent dust from setting off the alarms.
Do not turn off smoke detectors or remove batteries.
