Bathroom and WC
Bathrooms and WCs should meet all relevant codes and regulations.
Provide pattress for fixing furniture securely fixed to the stud work.
Plasterboards must be neatly cut around penetrations.
Drainage for wash hand basin (WHB) must be position within the stud work.
WHB waste pipe must be directed into stud work and connected to the drainage using proprietary cap.
Provide pattress for all furniture including radiators and pipe runs.
Provide pattress within stud work where shower doors and screens will be fitted.
This is to allow the screens to be fixed directly into timber without the need of a wall plug.
Provide protection to bathtubs and taps etc. as soon as they are installed.
Provide protection to shower trays as soon as they are installed.
Ensure the correct plasterboard is used in the specified areas as per the design.
Make use of the packaging where possible to protect bathroom furniture.
Ensure WCs and bungalow/apartment bathrooms comply with Part M circulation requirements.
There should be a minimum of 300mm between the wash hand basin and toilet.
The distance between the toilet and the wall should be a minimum of 450mm within the Part M compliant WC in a front entrance scenario.
Ensure furniture is centralised to the walls.
Tiling should fit neatly with the width of the basin.
Any tile should central to the taps.
Furniture and tiling should be set out to allow for an aesthetic finish.
Ensure there is a neat consistent finish to mastic.
Check valves should be positioned outside of the pan to allow for easy access.
Ensure there is a neat consistent finish to mastic which should continue around the pan.
Showers, taps and plugs should line up level with one another.
Use the appropriately coloured mastic to match the tile.
Chrome rose should be used on towel rail valves.
Drill tiles rather than cut for the pipe work.
