Dry lining

Dry lining shall provide an adequate substrate for the decorative finish. Dry lining shall be installed in accordance with British Gypsum White Book and NHBC Standards.

  • Wall tiling projected beyond bath to ensure neat finish.

  • Where possible, tiling should extend by 50mm.

  • Tiling should be set out to avoid small cuts (dentils).

  • Wall tiling projected beyond shower tray to ensure neat finish and better seal with shower doors.

  • Where possible, tiling should extend by 50mm.

  • Chamfer or return skirting board when terminating against tile trim.

  • Joint widths should be 2mm to 3mm.

  • Joints should be consistent around corners.

  • Use coloured sealant to best match the tiles.

  • Trim should be neatly mitred or cut to ensure a tight joint.

  • Trim should be installed level with neatly cut mitres.
