Notching and drilling shall be carried out within the recognised limits. Holes shall only be provided within the web of the joist in accordance with the manufactures detail.
Hole dimensions not exceeding 20mm do not need to be to the centre of the web.
Minimum 2x hole dimension spacing between holes.
Holes larger than 20mm are required to be placed centrally within the web.
Holes required to be at least the distance of the joist depth away from support.
The use of flexible ducting should be kept to a minimum.
Larger holes passing through the web close to the supporting wall require additional support, ‘Steico’ approval and reinforcement detail.
