Concrete Flooring

Pre-cast concrete upper floors including hollow core planks shall be placed in accordance with the design.

  • Precast concrete floor planks must be fully bedded on to masonry inner leaf.

  • Ensure planks are level horizontally taking into consideration the camber.

  • Floor planks should be installed in accordance with the design to ensure the correct plank are used in the correct location.

  • Plank or beams must bear onto the masonry by a minimum of 90mm and not project into the cavity.

  • Once installed, fully grout with a lean mix concrete.

  • Cavity barriers/socks must be tightly fitted into the cavity at the floor plank junction.

  • A minimum 10mm compression required to the cavity barrier.

  • This is to prevent fire, smoke and sound transfer through compartmentation.

  • A continuous cavity tray then must be installed directly on top of the cavity barrier.
