Concrete Flooring
Pre-cast concrete upper floors including hollow core planks shall be placed in accordance with the design.
Precast concrete floor planks must be fully bedded on to masonry inner leaf.
Ensure planks are level horizontally taking into consideration the camber.
Floor planks should be installed in accordance with the design to ensure the correct plank are used in the correct location.
Plank or beams must bear onto the masonry by a minimum of 90mm and not project into the cavity.
Once installed, fully grout with a lean mix concrete.
Cavity barriers/socks must be tightly fitted into the cavity at the floor plank junction.
A minimum 10mm compression required to the cavity barrier.
This is to prevent fire, smoke and sound transfer through compartmentation.
A continuous cavity tray then must be installed directly on top of the cavity barrier.
