Lintels and beams should be installed as per the design. Only steel and concrete lintels should be used and be the correct size for the opening.
Lintel to be bearing on a full block.
Lintel to be level.
Bearing to be at least 150mm.
Steel beams to have a central bearing onto the padstone.
Minimum bearing should be as per the design.
Floor joists must project a minimum 12mm above steelwork.
Floor joists project a minimum 2mm below the steelwork.
