Lateral Restraints
Restraint straps suitable for taking tensile force is required, tying walls to upper floors and roofs providing a critical function to the structural integrity of a property.
The carpenters should fit the restraint strap at the ceiling binder to suit the block work.
Ensure restraint strap return fits tightly to the back of the block.
The block should fit tightly to the perimeter noggin.
Ensure the blockwork at the gables fall in line with the restraint straps.
Wind post should be positioned and installed as per the structural design.
Wind post needs to be fitted tightly against the internal block work.
Insulation tightly abutted to the wind post.
