Section 5.1.5
Services Setting Out
The location of services and drainage below the ground floor needs to be as per the design.
Location of rest bends must be checked against the design.
Use of loose fill to prevent migration of pipe bedding.
Rest bends located close to external walls must consider perimeter insulation thickness to the ground floor, plaster work, skirting board and room to allow for connection of the drainage system.
Drainage connections should be a minimum 70mm from the internal wall to allow the SVP to pass the floor joist above without using additional connections.
Accuracy of the drainage sealed floor gullies is essential to prevent time consuming remedial activity later in the build.
Where the floor is of suspended construction, the underfloor water service should be insulated as it passes through the ground and ventilated space.
To ensure water services are adequately insulated, this needs to be done before being installed into the double walled ducting.
Insulated water service installed into ducting, carefully to avoid snagging.
Check all installations as part of your foundation key stage check list.
