Garage Walls
Walls for garages shall transmit all loads to foundations safely and without undue movement.
Brick to garages needs to be aesthetically pleasing from both sides of the walls.
Mortar joints fully filled and neatly pointed.
Piers should be positioned as per the design and built up from the foundations and not the floor structure.
Piers tied into garages wall with 2 ties every 225mm.
Plinth walls are required when there is an element of retention.
These should be positioned, constructed and tanked as per the design.
Once completed, protect the plinth wall from falling mortar.
