Mahima is a rising 7th grader at Lakeside School, and apart from her prolific skills with Madhubani art, she is also a highly talented author. She recently took an opportunity to merge those two talents by writing a masterful non-fiction narrative about her experiences with Madhubani art. She then submitted her work to Lexophilia, a prestigious literary journal by the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. Despite competition from middle school writers from across the globe, her work got selected and featured in the 2024 edition of this magazine. This year, Kriya, a talented 5th-grade artist, had her artwork selected for the cover of her school's yearbook! Her stunning creations have been featured on the yearbook cover for four consecutive years and have gained much appreciation from faculty and students alike. In fact, Kriya's principal even wrote her a card pronouncing her artwork as "out of this world!" Kriya credits Deepti Designs with helping her perfect the art of combining intricate details with passion and creativity. Bravo Kriya - your artistry truly shines!

On August 1st, Arunim (11th grade) hosted a solo Madhubani workshop at his house, without any assistance from Deepti Designs. About 8 to 10 young kids attended the workshop, where they learned basic Madhubani patterns in order to create Madhubani-themed butterfly wind chimes. According to Arunim, "This event was slightly challenging...[but] the participants of the event seemed to all enjoy this". Congratulations to Arunim for a successful workshop and for spreading the word about Madhubani art!
