These are extraordinary times. Times of mental and physical exhaustion, times when authentic connections with other humans have been taken over by social media and our culture's drive to be productive.
These times call for intentional work around compassion, community and connection. Join us as we gather to do the good work of sharing and supporting one another, of listening to each others' stories and of bringing a bit of calm and presence into our collective lives.
Dear Sisters,
We are so honored that you have chosen to join us for our Monthly Women’s Circle at The Awen Center. We gather on a Friday evening close to each month's New Moon at 6:30. If you’d like to walk the labyrinth to drop into a mindful space, feel free to arrive a few minutes early.
We come together to honor our divine feminine and to create a space to nurture our spirits as women and to have a safe space to express and to receive. We will create a space together where we can let go of our fears, judgements, insecurities, and simply come as we are. We sit in circle together as women to consciously share, to listen, to learn, to grow, to rest and to rejuvenate. We chose the New Moon to both connect to the 28-day cycle of the moon, that women are inherently attuned to, and to use the energy of the growing moon to build and manifest whatever intentions we set for ourselves during the circle.
What to Expect: For those of you who may never have sat in circle with others and for those of you who may feel anxious about “what you’re getting yourself into”:
We will gather in Beth’s living room, sitting in various chairs or on the floor as you are comfortable.
We will be seated in a circle and we will use a talking piece to ensure equity of voice and to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to be heard.
We will set community agreements together so we all know how to bring our best selves to the circle.
We will have a formal opening ceremony for the circle which will include calling in the four directions/elements, consecrating our space with water and incense, and beginning with a mindful practice.
We will share one or more prompts, to which each person has the opportunity to respond or pass. The first prompt will be asking you to tell us about the story of your name.
There may also be songs, drumming, and poems shared.
We will have a formal closing ceremony for the circle, offering gratitude to the directions/elements.
After the closing ceremony, there will be time for conversation, tarot readings and snacks! You can also walk the labyrinth after we conclude if you’d like.
If you feel like you may have to leave before the closing ceremony, please let us know.
*In arms and nursing babies are welcome but children should be left with loved ones as the purpose of this gathering is to renew yourself for your family.
These circles are free for the community, and donations toward the upkeep of The Awen Center are always appreciated.
