League Guide & Facts

• The second tier of Russian football

• 22 teams

• Teams play each other twice (42 games)

Promotion

• Top 2 teams automatically promoted

• 3rd and 4th placed teams qualify for promotion playoffs

• Reserve teams of top flight clubs ineligible for promotion (FK Krasnodar-2 & Spartak Moscow 2, Both can be managed) 

Relegation

• Bottom 6 teams relegated

Other

• The match squad must have no more than 4 foreign players (5 allowed in squad).

• There must be at least 1 Russian under-22 player in the playing 11. (Born after 31/12/1998)

• 1 extra Russian under-22 substitution is allowed once all other substitutions have been used. (Born after 31/12/1998)

• Belarus treated as non foreign

• Yenisey have a transfer ban until 02/02/2021

• Chertanovo cannot sign any players (transfer policy)

Ex Soviet/Eastern Bloc Journeyman

• Belarus

• Ukraine

• Other Eastern European Nations / Eastern Bloc

*As always this is only a suggestion, the leagues listed are in order of importance, feel free to run as many or as little leagues as you think your system can handle.  The setup above gives a nice regional feel.  

It is advisable however to run as many top tier leagues of major nations as you can to keep the continental club competitions competitive
