League Guide & Facts

• The second tier of Finnish Football

• 12 teams

• Teams play each other twice (22 games) 

• League then splits into promotion and relegation series (10 games)

• Teams sorted by 1) Points; 2) Goal difference; 3) Goals scored 

Promotion

• 1st place automatically promoted

• 2nd place plays the team placed 11th in the league above to earn promotion

Relegation

• Bottom 3 are relegated

Other

• FM21 gives you the option to start in either the 2020 or 2021 season.  Regardless of which you choose the teams will remain the same.  2020 is the default start date

• The match squad must have no more than 3 non-EU players.

• The match squad must have at least 9 players trained by a club in Finland.

• There must be at least 4 players trained by a club in Finland in the playing 11

• SJK Academy are an Academy side for another club and cannot be promoted
