The first is the belief that all senses—even vision—are extensions of the tactile sense. Through bold textures and glazes made from raw materials she collects and processes herself, she activates haptic memory, turning the rawness of untreated surfaces into intimate, lived experience.
The second is the concept of ritual as a means of personalization and unification. Drawing from archetypal forms and ceremonial objects that have been used across time and cultures, she transforms them into vessels of memory—objects that resonate with a shared sensibility and reconnect us to the Other through collective experience.

Irene Krimizi is an artist who graduated from the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) in Kent, where she studied Fine Art with a focus on sculpture. After returning to Athens, she turned to ceramics as a new means of expression. Her studio, located in the city center, serves as a space for introspection and experimentation—distanced from the distractions of the outside world.
Clay, a primal material, was a deliberate choice. Its deep historical resonance enables an ongoing dialogue with ceramic traditions that span from the dawn of civilization to the present. At the core of her practice is the act of recalling memory and shared human experience.
In this process, the hand becomes a knowing organ—capable of giving tangible form to the two foundational pillars of her work.
In this way, her work seeks to restore a lost sense of belonging—to reweave the communal fabric of existence and reawaken what it means to be part of a collective whole.
