Viral Impact is a student run and student developed news website dedicated to reporting on medical/research advancements, new technologies, and global/local news. We try to bring a unique student perspective to all our articles blended in with a mix of accurate data to give our audience a new view on what they see as "news"
Our Story & Mission:
In late January, we decided to start a personal project that was important to us: a student news source. We understood that throughout our high school careers from 9th all the way to 12th, multiple events had occurred in which we heard information from multiple news sites. That same information was shown in many different lenses and even gave implications towards future events. Because of this, we wanted to show our community proper information with a student's perspective so that the data would be more relevant to the educational audience. From there, we started writing articles on different medical research projects, healthcare policies, groundbreaking political and technological advancements, and even now, the COVID -19 crisis. We aim to portray to our community that we are affected by this information, whether direct or indirect, and that this information needs to be ready for the community to view and understand properly.
Executive Team
Hi! My name is Bibek Samal and I created the website's framework and its features as well as write/collaborate with analysts in the Sci./Tech. and Research/Statistics sections. My current hobbies include playing tennis, watching Netflix and learning about neuroscience. I am interested in the field of medicine and research especially in neuroscience and hope to make that as a career. Developing this website was a fun task for me and writing articles about science with my friends is something I enjoy even more!
Hi! My name is James Belanger. I am passionate about learning languages and more about the world in general. I am hoping to bring more visitors to the site through my writing skills and I am excited to be able to voice objective facts while also showing issues through a student's perspective. I hope to go into international relations and linguistics when I go to college.

I joined this group of students in creating this website because of my interest in spreading information and knowledge. Being a part of this group allows me to explore my interests while bringing our community a sense of security around current news. I currently have an interest in PR and hope to mold that into a career.
