Server/Network/PS4 Stability Issues (Nick Silva)

  • Heavy investigation with other departments.
  • Vestigial Systems removed and broke things on the way out of implementation. Such as RPG encounter systems, etc.
  • A lot better performance in internal environments.
  • Network issues still ongoing, all part of the same problem, getting solved along with a new tracking system and scans to narrow down issues progressively onwards.
  • PS4 stability issues coming memory leak issues. Seems to be from the UI, and not easy to debug. Finally almost pinned down. Maybe next week's update.

Soltech information (Nick Silva)

  • All departments are almost ready for going live. Endpoints finished.
  • Server unlocked and ready to allow new players, play it to test performance.
  • Connery and Soltech account transfers still running on test, will allow moves under launcher Play button.
  • Play on a fresh character first! Anything can happen!!!
  • Transfers allowed for only 30 days from inception. May allow some exceptions later, but only maybe.

Performance investigations: Data Side (Drew Matte)

  • Using new debugging tools to find issues.
  • Reducing server-side costs during gameplay.
  • Cleaned up a lot of unneeded packets on objects.
  • Player outreach with staff improving, and help was given by select players.
  • /bug command stuff went down for a day, still reading all the stuff everyday.

Weapon Mechanics(Garrett Brush)

  • Got time to work more on weapon mechanics.
  • Bouncing projectiles, Reflecting projectiles, with some crashing issues so far. With live demo.
  • VS weapons will have fanned projectiles. Spreads horizontally, aiming down sights will make it more vertical, then after a certain range go horizontally.
  • Spooling mechanics, but opposite. From super fast fire rate(faster than all ingame so far), to slow fire rate instead of slow to fast. Advocating burst fire with the super fast initial fire rate, likely on the TR carbine.
  • Mechanics trigger according to magazine shot/reload/resources.
  • NC carbine with a faster fire rate overall and moderate damage(similar to a VS carbine), but after the first few shots would do the next tier of damage. Encouraging you to top off magazine.
  • Another mechanic that has a projectile that after a certain time, will split into many other projectiles. Still finding a use, work in progress.
  • Crashing issues related to weapon mechanics likely deep in engine code, working with senior developers to get it done. No timeline yet.

Spawn Stuff(Wrel)

  • Community highly accepting of the spawn changes. Work in progress.
  • Not done yet. Foundation mostly done. Still some issues.
  • Mostly priorities rules, displaying things, hiccups with base system, and dictating what you spawn as.

Oshur update(Wrel) <?>

  • Terrain creation streams with suggestions, hopefully starting next week, no promises.
  • Highly encouraging underground locations, but NOT LIKE Subterranean Nanite Analysis.
  • Still rectifying design issues with continent.

Lore(Nick Silva) <?>

  • Briggs lore. Yay.
  • What he sees may be true…..OR NOT….but maybe…
  • Attempting to converge all factions with Vanu lore currently.

New ASP(Nick Silva)

  • Next year, EARLY next year.

NPE - New Player Experience/Leadership (Nick Silva/Wrel) <!>

  • Not much going on right now, but moving forward as expanding LUA pipeline.
  • Will likely not be done this year.
  • Learned things about NPCs. With some other interesting tech.
  • Possibility, but lots of man hours required.
  • NPE pushed back a lot by the performance issues the past quarter year. Hurt the dev team.

Outfit Progression(Wrel) <?>

  • Highly desired to be done right.
  • Same with NPE, pushed to next year due to previously mentioned performance issues.
  • Massive undertaking, want to invest more time to.

Doku Guns/Summer Flash/Combat Vehicle guns(Wrel)

  • Doku guns on the way, after next update. Unless they do a mid-month update, though unlikely.
  • Next update, Summer flash weapons will be purchasable.
  • New combat vehicle guns are getting fleshed out on the PTS, and some other fun stuff as well.

Alert timer changes for continents(Wrel)

  • Still being discussed to make timers/events more towards prime time either loosely or fixed.
  • Taking more time to make sure it works and is not a bandaid.

Possible MAX changes/revamp(Wrel/Nick Silva) <?>

  • Highly likely 2019.
  • Need to finish some animation work for MAXs before they get worked on.
  • Moving them into a completely different role, but more of the intended role to start with instead of the one now which is slaughtering everything.
  • 4/29 footnote, NC rework bandaid applied until further notice.

Destruction Derby(Wrel) <X>

  • Many iterations tried, didn’t fit well for any of them. Nearly officially canceled.
  • Still making a ground alert, like capture the core and bring it back to warpgate/depository stuff, still far off, but still juggling with priorities with work.
  • November is going to be a big month, October was a crunch time as well.
  • Cusp of a mic drop. (DX11/NSO)
