The Used formed in the summer of 2000 with Branden Steineckert, Quinn Allman, Jeph Howard, and Bert McCracken.[3] The band began composing songs without lyrics prior to McCracken joining. They held auditions for vocalists at Howard's residence,[4] but were not satisfied with any of the auditions, describing them as terrible. Allman then asked McCracken if he was interested in joining the band. McCracken was impressed with their material, and after being given some music, he wrote the lyrics to what would become "Maybe Memories". He returned the next day to record a demo version of the song and was then officially confirmed as the band's vocalist. During the early days of the band, members suffered from poverty, homelessness, and substance abuse, panhandling for change in order to buy food.[5] They decided upon the name "Used" after friends claimed they felt "used" when contact with the band members waned as they became more engrossed in the project.[6][7]

The discography of the Used, an American rock band, consists of nine studio albums, two live albums, one compilation album, three extended plays, one demo, three video albums, twenty singles and twenty-seven music videos. After releasing their eponymous debut album in 2002, The Used become one of the leaders of their era and have enjoyed much success with many of their albums being certified gold and platinum by the RIAA and selling over 10 million albums combined worldwide.[1]

In the literature, there have been no studies showing clear results on how radio-contrast pharmaceuticals would affect intact disc tissue cells. In this context, it was aimed to evaluate the effects of iopromide and gadoxetic acid, frequently used in the discography, on intact lumbar disc tissue in pharmaco-molecular and histopathological level. Primary cell cultures were prepared from the healthy disc tissue of the patients operated in the neurosurgery clinic. Except for the control group, the cultures were incubated with the indicated radio-contrast agents. Cell viability, toxicity and proliferation indices were tested at specific time intervals. The cell viability was quantitatively analysed. It was also visually rechecked under a fluorescence microscope with acridine orange/propidium iodide staining. Simultaneously, cell surface morphology was analysed with an inverted light microscope, while haematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining methodology was used in the histopathological evaluations. The obtained data were evaluated statistically. Unlike the literature, iopromide or gadoxetic acid did not have any adverse effects on the cell viability, proliferation and toxicity (P < 0.05). Although this study reveals that radio-contrast pharmaceuticals used in the discography, often used in neurosurgical practice, can be safely used, it should be remembered that this study was performed in an in vitro environment.

Also: The IIC+ was not used on Octavarium (as far as I know). It was redrafted into his live rig towards the end of the subsequent tour, however, and the Nunya preamp was used with the 2:100 poweramp for the Radio City Music Hall Concert that is on the Score DVD. The Road King was used for Octavarium; I think it was the version 2. Lone Star was used for cleans, and the Mark IV was reintroduced. The Razor's Edge solo sounds to me to be Mark IV, rather than Recto.

I do not think the IIC+ was used on this album. I'm pretty certain that Mark Snyder introduced JP to the amp at the time of the recording of Awake, and he later bought it from him.

Falling Into Infinity used a huge number of different Mesa amps. No-one really knows for definite what was used, I don't think. The TriAxis, Dual Rec and IIC+ were all there. The rackmount dual recs were used in the live rig, along with the IIC+, TriAxis and the Mark IV.

The actual mechanism of pain provocation through disc pressurization is not fully understood.1 Despite these barriers, many medical professionals consider discography a valuable tool in the investigation of disc-related pain unresolved by MRI or CT scans and in patients for whom surgery is contemplated.
