Facing over 13 divisions from across Bicol Region, the University of Saint Anthony Senior High School (USANT SHS) campus journalists delivered stellar performances at the 2024 Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) held last May 8-11, 2024, at the Iriga City Sports Center.
During the Mayor’s Night on May 9, USANT SHS Official Student Paper Publication, The Sentinel also received recognition as Fourth Place Best Editorial Page and Ninth Place Best News Page, together with student journalist Jascyl Jee Sayson, awarded as the Most Outstanding Campus Journalist (Secondary Level) in the region.
The following individuals and teams from the Senior High School Department have also been recognized for their achievements at the Closing and Awarding Program of the said event on May 11.
Awards were given to Jascyl Jee Sayson as the first placer for Editorial Cartooning (Filipino) with her coach Randy Dela Torre, Alaissa Angela Nolasco as the second placer for News Writing (Filipino) with her coach Christine Joy Nacario, and Hezekiah Lei Serdan also a second placer in Column Writing (Filipino) with his coach Leslie Chermen Dane Bagayaua.
For the group events, Collaborative Desktop Publishing (Filipino) got fourth place with Kyle Denise Barbonio, Andrea Bianca Curativo, Franchezka Lyann Deris, Allana Yzabelle Gabarda, Simoun Verrell Gedaca, Anne Ezra Ibias and Shekinah Psalm Tud as the members and Jenri Azuela and Maria Ana Agnas as their coaches. Anjela Sofia Agbanlog, Kae Anne Bello, Josiah Nathaniel Camila, Angeline Guevarra, Christian James Monta, Marian Janel Palos, and Ma. Bettina Kaye Pasion also got up on the stage as they are called as fifth place in Collaborative Desktop Publishing (English) with Venus Saballero and Mark Christopher Molina as their coaches.
The TV Broadcasting (English) “The In-Site” also bagged 1st Place Best News Script and 5th Place Best Overall Production with its team members; Lyra Anne Barra, Mare Justine Lontayao, Maria Andrea Cas, Syfiah Alcantara, Jordana Ashley Lopez, Sophia Danielle Larcena, and Christine Anica Batalla together with Ma. Veronica Barayoga as their coach.
