Summer has always been associated with the ideas of vacation, and a temporary escape from reality. It was all about enjoying the summer heat by brisking away on cool beaches, all while taking a sip of coconut juice. It was what we called a grand escape. One that many people, especially students, look forward to. But now, it became unclear as to how we feel whilst coping with this once leisurely escapade that is now a sweaty tragedy.
All students accomplish their tasks having one main goal in mind – to graduate on time. However, given what happened over the past 5 years, our academic calendar got moved from the initial specified starting point which leads us to where we are now; constantly dehydrated and sweaty due to the sudden and concerning rise in heat index.
Stuck in our homes with the fan set to the highest number, we experience drought and heat strokes induced by the blazing and harsh heat of the sun. This just shows how our past actions gradually come back to bite us, making us face the harsh reality that was to be expected..
Students kept complaining about the discomfort experienced while learning as they went through this scorching time of the year. However, there's really not much we can do except to wait. Unless people take action, only then we can heal the world and get us out of this exhausting modality of learning under the sun.
