A NEW ISSUE - THE RIDGEWAY EXPLOITER CRISIS

Introduction

Exploiting. An issue that has been present in every single Ro-state game to date. However, during this time where the game is open to anyone on Roblox without an account-age limits, the game is experiencing the most exploiting it has ever experienced. 

The Origins

The Origins of this exploiting crisis come from not long ago. This issue started from a poll in March. Square added a question asking if the game should be open to the public. 350 Respondents said yes and 130 said no. The people who said yes likely assumed that it would make the game more popular with a higher player count if the game was opened to the public. The people who said no likely assumed that an exploiting crisis would emerge. What we can say is both groups of people had extremely valid reasons to choose what they chose. Without looking into it much it seemed like a fantastic idea however, it wasn't thought through all the way. With the community favoring this idea heavily, it was soon implemented in the following update.

The Issue

The main issue with opening a game like Ridgeway to the public is how prone it is to exploiters. Every Ro-State game is full of "salty" people wanting to get revenge, or just people who want to troll. The way they do that is making alt accounts, buying or making exploits, and then using those against the game. When someone's wanting to get revenge on the game for whatever happened to them, it's reasonable to assume they aren't stupid enough to use their main account for exploiting at the risk of being banned from Roblox. Because of this, they use alt accounts they likely just made to get back at the game or troll at the expense of other people's enjoyment.

A Possible Solution

One of the solutions that many people are suggesting are account age restrictions. With account age restrictions, it would be more difficult for exploiters to troll or get their "revenge" because they would have to wait until the account reached the limit. The higher the age restriction is, the least likely the game is to be attacked by exploiters. However, this isn't the only solution. Another and possibly more effective solution is a better anti-cheat. A better anti-cheat would prevent these situations completely making it harder for people who create exploits to bypass. However, the best solution out of the solutions we just listed are using both solutions. If you find any exploiters in game be sure to get the attention of moderation so they can ban the account from the game immediately.
