We kick off with the protagonist of the film, our man Emmet himself! All dressed up as a construction worker (it makes total sense in a movie about construction toys!) Emmet has a lovable smile and incredibly charming personality that just seems to ooze out of his minifig.

Love the taco Tuesday guy! I also love all the movie hints that are being leaked through these minifigs. I have a feeling this movie is going to be a very good thing for TLG. I guess if you consider the production value of every media production LEGO has created (eg the official reviews of sets with the designers explaining them and playing with them along with Ninjago, Chima and Star Wars TV shows), the movie is on track to make many people salivate at the quality of both the story and visuals.

Throughout the film, the characters are struggling to get away from a planner who wants them locked out. As we approach the end of the movie, we find that this is a metaphor for something real. The person who built this world in his basement was gluing the Lego pieces down exactly as he wanted them.

When you look at the movie plot this way, the struggle between the older and younger generation can be seen as a battle between the old way and the new way. What was the old way? Maybe the Constitution. Maybe the Bill of Rights. A world in which schools were in-person events. A world of freedom of association and travel. It was a world in which we had choice about where to live, what to do, where to shop, and we controlled our own destinies.

Yes, it all sounds extremely creepy. I might be wrong that The Lego Movie portends a future of one generation of planners replacing another. Maybe it is just a fun cartoon after all. Still, the idea of master builders battling each other over what to make out of the pieces is a chilling one. If you watch it again, just remember that we are the pieces and we are not in charge. Then the movie takes on a completely different caste.

This started out as an experiment to improve the playability of the apartment set, but I couldn't help myself to complete it. I took a careful look at multiple screenshots of the movie again, and the rest of the building is based on the building from The LEGO Movie Videogame. The videogame's version is really very accurate to the one from the movie, so I think they resemble each other very closely.

It's a movie about Lego characters, many of which are merchandise tie-ins to movies, comics, and books, like Batman, Gandalf, Dumbledore, Superman, Green Lantern, Han Solo, Lando, and Wonder Woman. All of the new characters are also available in various Lego kits and minifigures.

Parents need to know that The Lego Movie is an action-packed animated family-friendly adventure following original and existing Lego characters. Featuring an all-star voice cast and some of the brand's most popular figures (Batman, Superman, Gandalf, Wonder Woman, etc.), the inventive movie should appeal to all ages, from young Duplo players to teens who consider themselves Master Builders. Although there's nothing overly objectionable (a few mild exclamations like "dang," "heck," "stupid," and "darn"), there's definitely a lot of action and peril, plus quite a bit of violence with the villain's security forces shooting at the good guys, and a character getting "beheaded" (since minifig heads pop off) or erased (with nail polish remover). Kids will love seeing some of their favorite minifigures come to life, but of course they'll probably ask for the tie-in Lego kits after the movie. Movies based on toys aren't ever this good, and it's a testament to the veteran animation filmmakers that this one is so smart, humorous, and visually fun to watch. The perfect cast of voice actors completely embodies their Lego counterparts: Pratt's adorable earnestness is legendary to any Parks and Recreation fan; Banks is a go-to girl-power voice; Arnett sounds exactly like Michael Keaton's Batman; and Freeman, Neeson, and Ferrell are master voice actors. But The Lego Movie is not just your typical animated adventure; there are real messages and sophisticated criticisms of popular culture and consumerism (rather subversive -- or very, very smart -- for a movie tied to a multi-billion-dollar toy company).

Families can talk about movies based on toys. How does The Lego Movie compare to the others, like Barbie or Transformers films? Does it make you want to get the Lego characters portrayed in the movie?

the lego movie (2014) is actually an extremely relevant anti-capitalist social satire in which president business runs a surveillance state and controls an oppressive police force led by good cop/bad cop, reflecting the political climate in america today. in this essay i will-

The file contained the first challenge the kids had to complete in order to receive the clue to the location of the next challenge. The first challenge was to build a certain number of lego towers of a certain height.

When they accomplished the task, we handed them a clue that led them to the next challenge, which was a lego toss. That led to another challenge, which was a kind of relay race where they had to carry legos on spoons. Then they received a message and key they used to decipher the final clue to find the piece of resistance (which was just something I cut out of a piece of poster board).

I set up a simple desert table that really only had the cupcakes and goodie bags on it. Target has a line of lego-themed party decorations and supplies. I picked up the foam lego garland and a tablecloth to use as a backdrop for the table. To print the posters, I downloaded free coloring pages, resized them to the right dimensions in photoshop, and had them printed as engineering prints at Staples. I really, really liked the way they turned out, and my kids had fun coloring them after the party.

For the goodie bags, I just drew lego faces on plain yellow bags and filled them with candy and little toys (Target has some cool stackable rainbow crayon things with the lego party supplies that the kids really liked).

The LEGO Movie, which was originally named LEGO: The Piece of Resistance and then later was changed to LEGO: The Motion Picture, is a movie released in theatres February 7, 2014 (USA), February 8, 2014 (Netherlands), February 14, 2014 (Europe and Asia), and April 3, 2014 (Australia). This film is rated PG and is a cross between stop-motion and computer-generated animation. It came out on DVD and Blu-ray on June 17, 2014.

As "The Man Upstairs" and Finn are called to dinner by Finn's Mom, "The Man Upstairs" and Finn make a compromise where Finn will be allowed to play with his LEGO Bricks. Finn is surprised when his father also allows Finn's younger sister to play with the LEGO Bricks as well. As a result of this, DUPLO Aliens from the Planet Duplon beam down from their spaceship, announcing their intentions to destroy them. Emmet and everyone else present is surprised by this and they huddle as Emmet says the final words of the movie, "Oh, man..." before the movie cuts to black, ending the movie on a cliffhanger.

The plans to develop the movie were revealed in August 2009.[6] In June 2010 it was reported that Phil Lord and Chris Miller were going to write and direct the movie.[7] On November 11, 2011 it was revealed that Warner Bros. had green-lit the film with a planned 2014 release date. Warner Bros. also contracted the Australian company Animal Logic to provide the animation.[8] In March 2012, Chris Miller stated that the current title was LEGO: The Piece of Resistance. Phil Lord and Chris Miller also mentioned that they were working on story development and the character design, and that casting would begin shortly.[9]

In a press release before the San Diego International Comic-Con 2013, LEGO revealed there would be 17 new sets released in 2014 based on The LEGO Movie, based on several themes from Space to Wild West. This press release also states there will be a line of Collectible Minifigures based on the movie's characters.[10][11]

During the first half, the movie rolls along with enough action and laughs to give the impression that, like most good family films, it has been deliberately packed with enough adult-access cultural references and in-jokes to make it fun (or at least bearable) for all concerned.

I can tell that the upcoming Lego Movie will be HUGE (merchandise is already flying off the shelves, there are already many positive reviews, etc.)! If this film is successful enough to warrant a sequel (which it most likely will), Legoland theme parks should capitalize on the upcoming success by developing a dark ride based on the movie.

I really, really, really wish Legoland would tap into some of that Merlin/Blackstone cash and pay for a top-shelf dark ride at both California and Florida. And, yes, the movie could be a great catalyst to help make that happen. But you're also right to question how much appeal a movie-themed dark ride might have without the IP. Ultimately, Lego's creative team just needs to find the right story to drive the ride's narrative.

The Lego movie is an amazing piece of work - unfortunately, way more inventive or exciting than Merlin bother to put into their theme parks. They'd rather clone the same kid-skewering rides than invest any effort in something new or original. 006ab0faaa
