Is it me, or is New Star Manager running extremely fast on newer devices. I just got the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and now all my New Star games (except Retro Bowl and New Star Soccer) are running extremely fast. I used to play this on the S7 and the gameplay was normal speed. On the S22 Ultra, it's like the game is running at 2x or 3x the speed.

Note: Since version 3.9.0, cleanup of internally-generated resource resolvers is completely automatic. You must remember to close your original resource resolver which you use to create the ActionManager, but any additional resource resolves it creates internally are closed when it is finished. The way that the action manager handles JCR sessions is that it clones the resource resolver provided at the time of creation. The original resource resolver can be closed at any point without affecting the scheduled work.

Once work is scheduled to run, you can check on the status using the provided JMX MBeans. The ThrottledTaskRunner bean lets you get current running stats of the actual work being done. The Action Manager Factory bean lets you get an overview of all action managers that have been created and how much work they have pending, if any, as well as total run-time and any errors that have occurred.

This is the core worker pool. All action managers share the same task runner pool, at least in the current implementation. The task runner can be paused or halted entirely, throwing out any unfinished work.

The action manager bean provides basic information about each running action manager and also lists any errors encountered. Other operations allow purging completed work, which is necessary if using this facility often.

You have to take complete ownership over the speed in which decisions are made, and do whatever you can to bring those decisions in faster. Your project, team or company is all about progress: the speed in which you ship, iterate, or fail and learn.

However, when I execute the code with 8 processes, it is almost same fast as with 1 process (compared 15 to 18seconds) and without the print statement both variants are equally fast (around 4 seconds). How does it come, although I'm using more processes? Is there a way to improve this?

As a fast food restaurant manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of the fast food venue, or venues, that you manage. This includes financial and staff management, adhering to health and safety rules and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Hours of work are generally long and shift-based, and you should be willing to work evenings, weekends and on public holidays. Some managers may work split shifts, with early starts, time off in the middle of the day and a return to work for a later shift.

You don't usually need a degree to work as a fast food restaurant manager unless you're joining a formal graduate management programme. These schemes are run by major fast food companies and usually accept graduates from any discipline, or people with experience of working in a customer-facing environment or managing teams.

Many managers begin their careers as counter-service staff and work their way up to management level by acquiring experience, rather than formal qualifications. There are, however, a range of relevant qualifications available at various levels, including degree and postgraduate level, in areas such as:

Formal qualifications are generally considered less important than evidence of relevant work experience and the personal qualities needed to be a successful manager. To get experience, you could work for a fast food outlet part time while studying, although experience in any customer-facing role is useful, as is the ability to manage a team.

Many of the large fast food organisations offer structured fast-track graduate management programmes. Training is comprehensive and will equip you with the key skills needed to succeed in this fast-paced environment.

Training is delivered through a combination of on-the-job learning and more formal courses, and can take place on-site, in specialist training centres alongside fellow trainee managers, and through self-study. There are few formal examinations. Your training is devised and reviewed by your line managers or mentors and is shaped by personal development plans.

If you join a structured training programme, the usual progression route is to begin at trainee management level, move to assistant manager level and then become a manager. You're likely to start by managing a small team and then progress to taking responsibility for an entire shift. With experience, it's possible to take on a specific area of expertise such as recruitment, finance or maintenance.

The next step for a manager is to a field or area management role, with responsibility for supervising the operations of several restaurants. Beyond this, there are general operational management or consultancy roles, advising the business on how to manage entire functions.

There are also opportunities for experienced managers who can afford it or who can raise the finance to open their own franchise. Many companies provide excellent support packages and training for potential franchise owners.

The training and experience you gain will enable you to move into other business areas. Some managers take up head office positions, for example in customer relations management. You could also move to hospitality management in a related industry or pursue general business management in a different sector.

From 2005 until he joined Jefferson Lab in 2020, Fast was a senior scientist and ultimately a laboratory fellow in the Radiation Detection & Nuclear Sciences Group at Pacific Northwest National Lab, where he was active in nuclear nonproliferation and treaty verification applications of radiation detection. He also worked in nuclear and high energy physics at PNNL, including serving as the project manager for the U.S. Belle II MIE project; the BELLE II experiment is currently taking data to study rare decays of heavy quarks at the KEK laboratory in Japan.

This one has me stumped. I'm using ASP.NET 2.0, connecting to SQL Server 2005. I have a stored procedure that has started timing out frequently when run from the page it's in, but when I take the SQL from profiler, or from my trace logs, and run it via enterprise manager, it always comes back within 1 second.

The proc takes 4 parameters, and the one that usually changes is a company id, of which there are hundreds, so the canonical example of parameter sniffing, where you have something like "country='usa'" doesn't seem to apply. I would be surprised if Sql Server ever thought a scan would be faster than a seek.

Are you sure it's not being caused by the read committed vs read uncommitted? I don't recommend it's use, because you can get some really bad data, but read uncommitted will run faster, quite a lot faster.
