As part of our literature festival, Presidency LitCon 2026, The English Seminar of Presidency University proudly presents “Lokāyata”: Materialism and the Question of Science in the Context of the Indian Knowledge Systems, a discussion featuring Dr. Anirban Das (Associate Professor, Department of Cultural Studies, Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta), in conversation with Dr. Kalyan Kumar Das (Assistant Professor, Department of English, Presidency University).

Memory Studies
As part of our literature festival, Presidency LitCon 2026, The English Seminar of Presidency University proudly presents “Wounded Archives”: Gender, Testimony, and the Politics of Memory in Times of Atrocity, a panel featuring Dr. Navras Jaat Afreedi (Assistant Professor, Department of History, Presidency University), Dr. Antara Ghatak (Assistant Professor, Department of English) St. Xavier’s University), and Bhaswati Bhattacharjee (Senior Researcher, Department of English, Dr. Harisingh Gour University).

As part of our literature festival, Presidency LitCon 2026, The English Seminar of Presidency University proudly presents “Once Upon A Bengal”: Folklores and Myths of Bengal, a panel featuring Dr. Md. Intaj Ali (Assistant Professor of English, School of Humanities, Netaji Subhas Open University), Dr. Debolina Guha Thakurta (Assistant Professor, Department of English, Shri Shikshayatan College) with Dr. Mousumi Mandal (Assistant Professor, Department of English, Presidency University) as the moderator.

Theatre Thinking
