In 1995, schoolmates Elin Almered and Johan Duncanson started a band which they named after a gas-station-turned-radio-repair-shop called "Radioavdelningen" (Swedish for The Radio Department). However, Almered and Duncanson soon stopped playing music together, putting the outfit on hiatus. Three years later, in 1998, Duncanson started making music again but now with Martin Larsson and they decided to adopt the same name.[1] In 2001, Larsson's then girlfriend Lisa Carlberg joined the group on bass, followed by Per Blomgren on drums and Daniel Tjder on keyboards.[2][3]

The amateur and amateur-satellite services are for qualified persons of any age who are interested in radio technique solely with a personal aim and without pecuniary interest. These services present an opportunity for self-training, intercommunication, and technical investigations. Twenty-nine small frequency bands throughout the spectrum are allocated to this service internationally. Some 1,300 digital, analog, pulse, and spread-spectrum emission types may be transmitted.

At Hofstra University's Department of Radio, Television, Film, you will learn the art and craft of creative storytelling in radio, video/television, film, and new media. Our programs, along with easy access to the media-rich resources of New York City, are designed to prepare students for the challenges that await them in the dynamic, transformative world of mediated communication.

Degrees and minors in audio, radio, television, film, video, and immersive media studies and production combine a strong liberal arts framework with the latest media technology, so students learn to think critically as they explore countless opportunities to express themselves creatively and prepare for careers as the next generation of communication leaders. Outside the classroom, our internship program offers real-world experience that takes advantage of our proximity to the media capital of the world, New York City.

In all our academic programs, we give considerable attention to the art of storytelling and the development of powerful, relevant, and original content, while emphasizing the importance of understanding the long historical traditions of each medium, and the theoretical frames in which they function. The system backbone is a network of radio towers, equipment shelters and radio transmission equipment. This trunked backbone is shared by network users throughout the state, as identified in the statewide radio communication plan (PDF) maintained by the Statewide Radio Board.

The basic functions of the IRAC are to assist the Assistant Secretary in assigning frequencies to U.S. Government radio stations and in developing and executing policies, programs, procedures, and technical criteria pertaining to the allocation, management, and use of the electromagnetic spectrum. The basic role of the representatives appointed to serve on the IRAC is to function, when in Committee, in the interest of the United States as a whole.

The Radio, Television, and Film Department faculty and Dean developed its initial mission and goals with the founding of the Department in 1975 when its moniker was the Telecommunications Department. Over the years, these goals and objectives underwent frequent revisions to align them with the Department's curriculum. The last major revision of the Department's curriculum was in 2013, which resulted in the addition of several courses in digital filmmaking, documentary, and postproduction (see Appendix). The mission of the RTF Department is to educate professionals to a high level of excellence in the production and critical studies of radio, television, film, and new media.

The Radio, Television, and Film program at Texas Southern University engages students in the production and critical studies of radio, television, film, and new media. We offer our students a balanced curriculum that provides integrated study and training in the art and business of electronic media. The Bachelor of Arts program in Radio, Television, and Film combines 60 credit hours of a broad general education with 61 credit hours of required, related and free electives that each student can shape toward their individual educational goals within the major.

The Radio Communications division operates the infrastructure and maintains the two-way radios that provide critical voice and wireless data communications in Davidson County and across the middle Tennessee area for first responders. While primarily serving public safety purposes, the 800MHz Radio System is used by every Metro department as well as Nashville Electric Service. It also serves federal, state, and other local area government agencies and offers interoperable voice communications for over 10,000 users of the system. Additionally, our conventional radio systems continue to support interoperable communications with first responders from the surrounding counties as well as state and federal agencies.

BECA faculty and staff strive to provide the most diverse and vital department for the study of electronic media. Students get cutting-edge training and education in many areas, including: TV and radio broadcast, video production, audio production, sound art, aesthetics, multimedia, writing for media, legal issues in media and media management.

As a Radio Dispatcher, you would monitor, dispatch, and control two-way radio traffic providing interconnections between the various communications systems used in the Thruway's Statewide Operations Center. You would regularly use computer equipment and telephones to enter, receive, and transmit information; make data inquiries; and arrange for repair service when radio equipment requires it. You would also handle the telephone traffic through the communications center. You would be required to know the established policies for Toll Collection, Maintenance, Traffic and Safety, Media Relations and Communications, and State Police Troop T, and to keep abreast of important events happening in those and other areas affecting the operation of the Thruway. As a Radio Dispatcher, you would regularly receive, enter, and dispatch information on the weather, road conditions, unusual or hazardous vehicles, accidents, State Police action, and emergencies requiring assistance from Thruway personnel or outside agencies. In the course of your duties, you will also be required to disseminate real time roadway information obtained from camera images or other roadway devices to the traveling public utilizing web-based systems or roadside devices such as Variable Message Signs, Highway Advisory Radio or other devices that are controlled by the Thruway's Statewide Operations Center. 

To be considered a qualified employee eligible to compete in this examination, you must be employed in, or on leave from, the specified department or agency on a permanent or contingent permanent basis in the competitive class, or in the non-competitive class or labor class if specifically noted on this announcement (or be on an appropriate preferred list), and have the specified time in the specified title or salary grade. You may not compete in a test for a title if you are permanently employed in that title (unless you are still on probation) or in a higher direct line of promotion.

The email will include the vendor's name and contact information. The school will contact the vendor to develop their radio programming, and coordinate training and installation. A Point of Contact is also needed in case it is necessary to obtain any clarifying information regarding the order form or additional information must be emailed to the school.

Answer: The Point of Contact should be the school superintendent, school principal or vice principal. Someone in a supervisory position who is in a decision making capacity that has direct access to the radio.

Answer: No, the choice of radio must come from the school. Those agencies can help, guide, or advise, but the school must decide. We will not accept any orders listing a School Radio Point of Contact as local law enforcement, Emergency Manager, or other first responder.

Answer: No, you are not required to reach out to anyone, but it is strongly encouraged. Your local law enforcement or Emergency Manager can aid the school in determining many decisions that will need to be made once the radio arrives, such as programming; where, who, and how any emergency calls will be received; training your staff in radio use; best placement of the radio in respects to installation; and what type of maintenance plan you want. These are decisions the school needs to make after the radio arrives at the local vendor and having assistance with these decisions is recommended.

We will explain the local factors that you should consider and help you decide what would be best for your school based on your local emergency communication platform. If needed, we will advise who you should reach out to locally for assistance and provide names with contact information.
