My background as a BA in Business Administration allows me to operate on the crossroads of Business, Marketing, Finance and Data all of which are interconnected. One can’t do without the other. Especially, knowing the business and the objectives is extremely relevant before you even think of starting with data analysis.

From business consultant to data analyst
My background as business consultant is laying the fundament for exposing the business of any company at a glance. Without that insight, in my opinion and experience, it is impossible to apply the correct data analysis. A connection always has to be made between data and business. Without insight into the business, data are self-contained data that lack any foundation, resulting in unreliable management decisions.

Business case - Decision-Making Analysis
In 1995, I had my first opportunity to apply data analysis when I started working for UPC. Management needed to show data results in order to make proper business decisions. The first thing I needed before performing any data analysis was to gain insight into all possible data available within the company. As soon as I convinced the IT manager in order to reach the goal it requires to have direct access to all data, I instantly gained complete insight to perform the right data analysis for the company.
The objectives and requirements were defined, providing the basis for appropriate data analysis. Programming adequate models and formulas, I quickly managed to distil insights from raw data management needed to make the right business decisions.
A professional data analyst is programming modules and formulas, giving the client the proper insights to continue to work on repeatedly data analyses. By creating a solid fundament for data analysis, management could now carry out all necessary analysis automatically.

As an independent analyst, I mainly work on a project basis and focus on process and data analysis of raw data. I am skilled in the relationship between analysis, determining the required requirements, from global to detail and the business.

By inventorying, analysing and elaborating in detail existing and new information flows, but also modulating raw data into insightful data patterns that are traced back to the business, I provide your company with clear insight into the data needed to make the right strategic decisions. With the acquired knowledge, one can respond adequately to changing customer behaviour and market developments.

Through my background as a business consultant, I am able to immediately establish the link between data and the business, enabling to provide insight into management information for direct decision-making and long-term policy.
